Mrs. W. A. Spikes, Kingston, Okla., said, "I am a native of Denton County but by marriage a citizen of Oklahoma since 1903, when the late W. A. Spikes and I were married." Mrs. Spikes, prior to her marriage was Miss Nannie Fox; sister of the late Laurence and Eury Fox, all pioneers of the county in the Lloyd community. Miss Fox was a student in Denton High and also the Normal College, when it was operated by the late M. B. Terrill. In the early 90s she was Lloyd correspondent for the Record- Chronicle and has continued newspaper work in a way, as she writes for the Medill newspaper news from her community. She taught school in several of this county's public schools. Her age has not interfered with various activities for the public as she has taken the school census of the Kingston District for 30 years or so and for three years she was in charge of the federal census of that area. She is visiting two nieces in Denton, Mmes. Tom Lindley and S. W. Kolner.
